Sarandë: a renter’s guide

The largest town on the southern Riviera, Sarandë looks straight across the water at Corfu. It climbs a hillside, so most flats have balconies over the bay and a steep street or a few flights of steps between you and the seafront. Much of the housing doubles as holiday accommodation and is let to visitors in the tourist season, which shapes what is on offer the rest of the year. Ksamil and the ruins of Butrint are a few kilometres to the south. Foreigners who settle here usually want a flat they can keep beyond August, so ask about winter terms early.
